In 2016, we took the boat out three times. In 2017, I was satisfied with staying at the dock most of the summer. And the same with 2018. This boat is big, and it’s my home multiple months of the year… driving it out on the lake is intimidating, to say the least.
For 2019, though, something changed. I drove the boat to the slip by myself for the first time ever, and things went well. We took the boat out in June, and there were no calamities. So we took it out in July. And again in August. And there were no issues. What’s more - we all had a lot of fun.
Gas, though, would be a problem. We were running out. So, for the first time since I bought the boat, I took her down to the gas dock. And we fueled up. $350 later, we were just above half full… enough fuel, I figured, to get us through the rest of the season.
I’m kicking myself for not doing this more in 2016, and at all, really, in 2017 and 2018. Below is a stop motion video of our cruise out onto the lake after getting gas… thanks to my able crew, Mike and Rob, for being there on many of the voyages out onto the lake this year, and to Dave for help with the gas.
